CLASSROOM POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

SUPPLIES
Students are required to bring all supplies to class each day. NO TRIPS TO LOCKERS WILL BE ALLOWED ONCE THE CLASS PERIOD HAS BEGUN. Supplies include their chrome book, a writing utensil (no red pens for homework or classwork), notebook paper, three-ring binder (or lab notebook), calculator (cheap one is fine) , highlighter and a set of ear buds or headphones.
BEHAVIOR
Respectful behavior at all times.
** Students must be in their assigned seat when the second bell rings
Only one person talks at a time.
** NO HATS, COATS OR BOOK BAGS, MAY BE BROUGHT INTO OR WORN IN THIS CLASSROOM.
If a cell phone is visible or rings in the classroom it will be confiscated and taken to the office for a parent to retrieve.
According to the handbook, all cell phones are to be turned off and not visible in the classroom.
** No music devices may be brought into or used in this classroom.
** Bring Chrome book to class charged
GRADING
The following grading scale will be used in this coarse, until a new grading scale is determined by administration for the 2017-18 school year.
Practice / quizzes = various points Lab reports = 20 pts Major Tests = 100 pts
Grading Scale:
Until a new grading scale is completed for the 2017-18 school year.
A = 95-100% B+ = 87-89% B- = 80-82% C = 73-76% D+ = 67-69% D- = 60-62%
A- = 90-94% B = 83-86% C+ = 77-79% C- = 70-72% D = 63-67% F = 0-59%
** All assignments handed in for credit must have the following information in the top right corner: name (first and last name), class period, date, assignment title.
LABORATORY
Violation of any lab rules or any other safety procedure will result in immediate removal from the lab and a grade of zero will be given. Repeated offenses will result in parent contacts, discipline referrals, and possible removal from lab.
MAKE-UP WORK
It is the student’s responsibility to retrieve the work missed the day or days of their absence from the teacher’s webpage (online). Missed labs, with an excused absence, must be made up within one week of returning to class, if the lab can be held beyond the lab day. If the lab can not be left beyond the lab day, the student will write a two page, double spaced informational essay about the subject the lab covered, using 2 references(please see teacher for subject of essay). Labs must be made up after school and it is the student’s responsibility to schedule the make-up lab with the teacher. When handing in make-up assignments, the student must write at the top of the assignment “MAKE-UP WORK” and include all information on the top right corner- including the textbook page and question numbers.
STUDENTS ABSENT FOR ONLY ONE DAY IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING A TEST WILL TAKE THE TEST THE DAY THAT THE STUDENT RETURNS TO CLASS!! If a student misses the day of the test, they will make it up after school on the first day available (within the week)

- TARDY POLICY- The tardy policy is the policy contained in your student rules handbook.
